What happens if my LPA application is rejected by the OPG?
Answered by the SAMEDAY LPA team — qualified estate planner
The OPG sends a notice explaining the reason. You usually have a chance to fix the problem and resubmit. Common reasons for rejection: missing signatures or dates, signatures in the wrong order, Certificate Provider issues, attorney details that don't match the rest of the form, restrictions written in language the OPG considers ambiguous or impossible. Resubmission usually restarts the 8–20 week clock. This is the main reason DIY LPAs can take longer than provider-prepared ones — providers know the OPG's specific rules and the language they accept. We never charge a fee if a rejection is our fault.
