Drafting same-day LPAs · Mon–Sat, 9 til 6

SAMEDAY LPA

From decision to draft in one day.

Most providers run on the assumption that nobody's in a hurry. We don't. Here's exactly how a same-day LPA works, start to finish — including the parts we can't speed up, told honestly.

The three steps

  1. Tell us about you

An online form (about 5 minutes) or a phone call. We capture who your attorneys are, what powers you want them to have, and whether you need a Certificate Provider from us.

  2. We draft today

A qualified planner drafts your LPA documents the same day you order. You get a PDF draft to read before anything is signed — nothing happens behind your back.

  3. Sign and submit

Sign at home with two witnesses, or have a planner visit and witness in person. We submit to the Office of the Public Guardian for you and track the registration.

What “same day” really means

We'll be straight with you, because the alternative is the kind of overpromising that gives this industry a bad name. There are two stages to a Lasting Power of Attorney, and we only control one of them.

The first stage is drafting and signing your documents. That's the part most providers stretch out to 6 to 12 weeks, and it's the part we do the same day you order. A real planner drafts your LPA, you read it, and you sign it — today, if you order before 2pm.

The second stage is registration with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). That currently takes the OPG 8 to 20 weeks, and it's the same wait for everyone, whoever you use. No provider can speed that up — anyone who says otherwise isn't being honest with you. What we do is get you to that stage today instead of three months from now, and submit a complete, correct application so it doesn't get bounced back.

So when we say “same day”, we mean the work that's in your control — and ours — happens today. The government's bit runs in the background after that.

What you actually get

  • Property and Financial LPA (LP1F)

Lets the attorneys you choose manage your money, property, bank accounts, and bills.

  • Health and Welfare LPA (LP1H)

Lets them make decisions about your care, medical treatment, and where you live — only if you ever lose capacity.

  • A plain-English summary of your wishes

Written so your attorneys and your family can actually understand what you decided, and why.

  • Free attorney guidance pack

What your attorneys are signing up to, the rules they have to follow, and the practical things most people get wrong.

  • OPG submission and registration tracking

We submit to the Office of the Public Guardian and keep an eye on it so you don't have to chase.

What we don't do

We're not solicitors. We don't give regulated investment advice or write inheritance tax mitigation strategies. If you need those, we'll point you to people we trust. Our job is your LPA, done properly, today.

Common questions about the process

How quickly can I actually have my documents?
If you order before 2pm, a qualified planner drafts your Lasting Power of Attorney documents the same day and emails them to you to read. You sign once you're happy. The only stage neither of us controls is the Office of the Public Guardian's registration, which takes 8 to 20 weeks for everyone.
Do I have to sign in front of a planner?
No. You can sign at home with two witnesses, which is what most people do. If you'd rather, a planner can visit and witness your signature in person — that's our signed-and-submitted service. Either way, we make sure the signatures happen in the right order, because getting that wrong is one of the most common reasons the OPG rejects an LPA.
What information do you need from me to start?
Who you want as your attorneys, the powers you want them to have, and a few details about you. That's the heart of it. If you're not sure about something — like whether you need one type of LPA or both — that's exactly what the call is for. You don't need to have it all worked out before you contact us.
Can you help if I've started my LPA somewhere else and got stuck?
Yes. People come to us part-way through all the time — usually stuck at the Certificate Provider section, or unsure how to word a restriction. We can act as your Certificate Provider on an LPA you've drafted elsewhere, or pick the whole thing up and finish it properly. Tell us where you are and we'll tell you the quickest way forward.
What happens after you submit to the OPG?
We submit a complete, correct application and then keep an eye on it so you don't have to chase. The Office of the Public Guardian works through its registration queue — currently 8 to 20 weeks — and once it's registered, the LPA can be used. We'll let you know when it's done and send you certified copies for your attorneys.
