Does the Certificate Provider need to see me sign the LPA?
Answered by the SAMEDAY LPA team — qualified estate planner
Not in person, but they need to certify that they're satisfied you understood the document and weren't being pressured into signing it. The signing itself can be witnessed separately. The CP signs section 10 (in the LP1F) or section 10 (LP1H) to certify those things. In our process, the CP video call usually happens before you sign — you discuss the LPA with us, we sign the certificate, then you sign with your own witnesses. The order matters legally: the CP signs after the donor in most cases. We handle the order for you.
